Yes.

If a spot 6 inches below the rail at the beam is under water continuously ,
that's normal, you're just heeled. If your bow is under water continuously,
you've got real problems.

I must confess I took 2 hours getting ready to drill the holes for
the vents. Drilling holes in test pieces of wood, trying different
bits, measuring, re-measuring, but mostly just procrastinating
out of fear. Then I drilled the holes in about 15 seconds flat.
