[Public-List] Official Rudder Shoe Project Update (No Joke!)

Peter,

Thanks for staying on this!  I would like to confirm my order for one of the shoes - no holes drilled please.  Although it would be nice to have a pilot hole cast to locate center for the pin. 

I will be hauling Dolce Next week and can make a drawing with measurements of the pintle to send you.  

Also from the standpoint of preventative maintenance, I am real interested in the original cause of your rudder failure.  Did you ever discover any physical evidence on the boat to indicate why your rudder fell off.  Was their signs of corrosion, left over pieces, part of the rudder.shaft in the bearing etc left in the boat after the rudder was gone that might explain what happened?
