[Public-List] Stuffing box in earlier Albergs

I have the same problem with my boat.  Currently I have a small bilge pump dealing with the large drip.  My boat has an access panel cut out from the port seat locker.  It's big enough to get in the locker and then have access to the stuffing box.  If you don't have one it can be cut out with a jig saw.

Having a problem with a stuffing box that is dripping way too 
much...enough to create bilge issues. Is there any way to get to it 
other than taking the steps out and hanging over the engine (Universal 
Diesel)? My boat is Hull No. 167 so probably no additional stuffing box 
on the rudder shaft.

All advice is welcome!
