[Public-List] Winterizing Atomic 4

Hello everyone,
For winter storage on the hard here in Toronto, I have for the last 14 years been draining the water from the Atomic 4 which has worked well. Now I am having problems with some seized brass drain plugs and last spring one of the essential lower plugs with a butterfly valve, had the butterfly handle was broken off while closing it. As most or you will know the access to most of these plugs is terrible. As a result, for this winter storage period, I think I will leave the plugs as they are and winterize with antifreeze.

In the past I have used automotive antifreeze to winterize but reading Don Moyers winterizing procedures, he suggest using RV antifreeze that is used for fresh water lines and tanks. Perhaps he thinks that the RV antifreeze is more environmentally friendly if it gets in the the water. I wonder however, if the automotive antifreeze is better for preserving the engine. Also bear in mind that my Alberg is in Toronto where the winters are usually significantly colder than the Chesapeake area. If anyone has any opinion on this issue, I will appreciate hearing what you think.
