Hello Saleem

I replaced Surprise's with new wooden ones too.    There's nothing wrong with wooden spreaders and I expect the new ones will last longer than the forty years the originals served. 

If you stick with wooden spreaders, you won't have to have new hardware custom fabricated for your mast...
