If you are in the Annapolis area and wishing you had a Dickinson Newport
Solid Fuel Heater, there is one for sale at Bacons.
I was there last night and instead picked up a Cole which had a flue,
damper, and Charlie Noble.

Seconding what Mike said The Dickinson Newport Solid Fuel Heater. It
does a good job of taking the edge off and making the cabin comfortable.
It is also dry heat unlike the camping heaters that burn alcohol or the
catalytic propane ones. My boat has a larger cabin than the Alberg and
my wife and I are satisfied. We used it last fall doing the ICW to
Florida and burned it almost every evening and every morning from mid
October to mid November. As to fuel, Mike is correct in the choices.
However I have settled on Cowboy Charcoal for heat output and ease of
use. It is easy to add more as needed and ash isn't a big problem.
Driftwood and other sticks seem to burn up too fast, regular charcoal
isn't real hot and too much ash. Coal OK but a PITA. Presto Log slices
produce good heat but way too much soot and will clog the flue. Make
sure you have a small galvanized bucket for ash and still lit coals. I
use "fire starters" to light it, quick, easy and safe.
