That's something we should be able to do this summer!
One of the racing boats with a good wind instrument, GPS and logger
could collect,  note the wave conditions and what sails are in use and I
volunteer to compile it.

J Bergquist did some of this before he took his boat to Lake Superior
but I don't think  he had a lot of data.

Of course, racers may not be willing to divulge their actual
performance......

I reckon he figured the A30 was towing an inverted dinghy to be doing
only 5knts in 18knts of wind!
