[Public-List] Using Starboard for cockpit locker hatches

I am thinking of replacing my original cockpit locker hatches with new hatches.  So considering alternative materials.  

Has anybody made hatches from King Starboard?  Any pros or cons?  Iam a little dubious about using this material, but curious if anyone has done this and is happy with the outcome.
