[Public-List] Alberg 30 boom gooseneck

Hi,
After stripping the paint off Mara's boom I discovered a large crack in the
gooseneck right above where the old roller furling crank handle would have
attached.  Has anyone on here had this issue and if so what solution to it
did you find.?
My immediate thought is to weld it but I'm not sure if this would work
here...?
Is there a source for new goosenecks that fit the original boom?
Any help it troubleshooting this matter would be greatly appreciated.
