[Public-List] A new A-30 blog that may be of interest

Greetings, All,

I've begun fiddling around with a new blog that may be of interest as it
centers on our very fine vessels. My intention is not to undercut the A-30
email list or the A-30.org website--both of which I find immensely
helpful--but to take a stab at sharing some photos and fix-it experiences
which I hope may be of use to others.

Take a look at http://paintsjustaboutdry.tumblr.com/ if you're interested.
I've included a number of exotic photos revealing the dark inner recesses
of my diesel engine-- scary!

The first couple articles are about troubleshooting and fixing an oil
pressure gauge problem and about replacing and dissecting the seawater
pump. Both of these are on the Universal M3-20B diesel engine, a common
replacement for the old Atomic 4s.

I'm planning to add a section on the process of replacing my rigging: you
may recall that I wrote some emails about this recently. Mine were the
shrouds and stays with Nico press fittings at the tops.

I also plan to add a section about taking apart my older Profurl roller
furling (model L or N 31, I believe) in order to replace the forestay. I
was avoiding this task for ages, and it turned out not to be all that
difficult. (Let's see if I get it all put back together correctly. At
present I'm waiting on the US mail for delivery of 2 plastic bearing
sleeves so I can start reassembling the dang thing. Fortunately, parts were
ordered from within the US, not France, the homeland of the Profurl.)

Best Regards-- I hope the rest of you are spending more time on the water
than I am!
