[Public-List] dodgers

I have had some experience building a new dodger for Quest using DVD instructions from Sailrite and purchasing the materials from them as needed rather than the kit. I already had the stainless bows from a prior dodger and patterned the new dodger to fit the frame. To mirror what was already mentioned, you must pattern the fabric to fit the frame not the other way around. Too many compound curves that will show wrinkles if the seams are off by more than about 1/4"

I had limited sewing experience and used a high quality home machine. There were times when it struggled and I have since purchased a Sailrite machine which would have made it a lot easier. I probably worked 50+ hours over the winter but came out pretty well. Unless you have a lot of sewing experience I would not consider doing it without good instructions - There was very little in making one of these that is intuitive. I found the video to be very well done and worth the price if you're considering taking this on. Just my two cents.
