I cannot be present at the meeting, though Rinn Duin will be represented.

I agree with all of George's points about doing things carefully. I think that ideas like proxy voting and remote voting discussed by Barbara and Jay are good ones that need to be carefully considered. A concrete proposal for a such a rules change should be developed and transmitted to the membership for a good long debate.  These are among the long-term solutions that George is looking for. The problem is we are very unlikely to generate a quorum for that vote. 

I think the Commodore's amendment is a practical intermediate solution that reflects the reality of the change in our membership over the years - both reduction in numbers and the scattering geographically. 

I hope to see many of you after the meeting!
