[Public-List] Main sail jackline(new sails)

Reverie needs new sails. The current main has a jackline. I understand this is so you don't need to open the slide stop when reefing and you don't for the first reef, but for the second you do at least the way it is now. There has been a track installed bellow the sail track on the mast so the goose neck can be moved up and down. So far this has not been a problem, but it seems that when single handing and you want the second reef it could be a bit time consuming and by then a bit more exiting. Is it a common thing for sail makers to include a jackline? Is there a better way to go? Also there is a big shelf cut into the foot of the sail, could this be for the old roller reefing? I apologize for so many questions at once, but really could use some help before making a mistake and not getting the sails right.
