[Public-List] Gimbaled stove was electric drive

Good morning Chip -
The bunk arrangement you describe below is similar to how the Corvette's
interior is set up. One of the berths is joggled forward into a 'box' built
into the bulkhead, allowing the galley to grow forward a bit. You can
probably find drawings on line for the Corvette 31. The Corvette is the
smaller sister to the Frigate, a 36 footer, both named for the Canadian
warship classes in the Battle of the Atlantic. Who today knows that the
Corvette car was named for a class of Canadian/British warship?
Corvettes are good boats, but of course I used to hate them when I was a kid
racing in the Toronto Alberg 30 one-design fleet... They are full keeled
yachts with moderate overhangs like ours, but they have a secret below the
waterline. The full keel is shallow and houses a deep centreboard. Those
boats were damned fast downwind with the board up and went to windward like
witches with the board down. They've got about 10% more waterline and sail
area than an Alberg 30 but displace about 1,000lbs less. I hated
them....and now you've reminded me of their very clever bunk/galley
arrangement... hmph
