Maurice,
You solution sounds like the way to go. Should work well and be strong. If you don't want/need a toggle at the upper end you could use a sta-loc with a fork to fit over the flat bar. This means one less piece/connection.

Hello,
Not sure how to post a photo but if you look at the 2013 Nood regatta (Annapolis, MD) video posted on youtube right at the start you get a good shot of the masthead casting with pins for forestay and backstay. Somehow, Lin Gin managed to insert swage eyes in the slot in the masthead casting. Probably, ground down a touch as Glenn was sugesting earlier. I will use machined flat bar stainless to attach to the pins and extend outward then add a toggle to attach sta-loc eyes maybe overkill but should work.
Cheers,
Maurice

>> The issue is with the toggle at the top, seems none exist that can fit in the masthead casting. They are not long enough and too thick. So i think i will use a combination much to what both Gord and Glenn propose swage eyes and extensions. Should be better then the current forestay that has a broken strand between thimble and nicropress, that needs to go.
