[Public-List] Cockpit floor hatch?

I just acquired #456, and finally got her home two weeks ago. I'm just starting to learn about all the little details.  She is a 1971 liner boat.  She has a round access port in the cockpit that looks to be original based on the non-skid pattern around the access port.  Did liner boats ship with an access port in the cockpit or is this a case of a factory customization or a very well done after market install?

For anyone is the Annapolis/Eastport area that would like to see a Bomar
10" round access port installed in the cockpit sole, please let me know.
#262 Seaquin has one installed directly above the water lift muffler and
stuffing box.  Tomorrow is no good for me, but perhaps on Sunday, certainly
during the work week as I work in Annapolis but live in Silver Spring.
