I find diesel very stable and never treat it. I fill the tank in the fall to reduce the air space and thus the amount of moisture condensation.
Cheers, Rod

</div>Folks,
Its that time of year. Hauling out on Tuesday at Smith's Marina. Have
used about 9 gallons of the 12 that I put in the tank in May. Wondering
if its better to pull the tank out of the boat and bring it home to store
in the basement or to empty it and leave in place, or to fill it and leave
it in place ?
Pulling it would allow me to clean it, if needed.
Filling it would allow me to add Stabil or similar and run some of that
through the engine.
The current diesel does not have Stabil or similar and I am wondering if
the cold will mess with the diesel that is in the injection pump and the
high pressure side of the fuel system. The lower pressure side I can drain
for the winter and prime in the spring.
What would you do ?
Jonathan (first winter with #262)
