Enough with the grouching about through-hulls and
horror-stories about cranes dropping boats. What
did everybody get up to this summer?

My highlights include:

Sailing almost every day of the summer cruise. Only
using the engine to get in and out of anchorages and marinas,
Only one day was a long motor. This almost never happens
in the Pacific Northwest, the winds often very light.

Anchoring in the warm, gin-clear water of Tribune Bay
on Hornby Island. Swimming in the warm, gin-clear water
This also almost never happens in the Pacific Northwest. The
water is mostly freezing.

Drinking cold, gin-clear gin in the cockpit, watching the
sunset in Lyall Harbour. Admittedly, this
happens relatively often in the Pacific Northwest.

The Atomic 4 fixing itself over the course of the cruise.

Passing a 10m Farr-design in one of those informal
not-really-a-race-we-just-happen-to-be-going-in-the-same-direction-but
we-are-both-paying-a-lot-more-attention-to-the-sails-than-if
we-were-just-cruising races.
