We use 3/8" for normal weather and have "light air" sheets (1/8" dynema) for
little to no wind...since we only cruise anymore...we use the 'iron jenny'
when the boat won't pass the "cracker test", which is...I toss a cracker
overboard and if we have not passed it within 15 minutes, I crank up the
diesel.

I would not consider 1/2" line. It is too big for spin gear. It is too heavy
to allow the spin to fly in light breeze. Remember when racing you rarely
spend extended periods reaching with the pole on the head stay. I have
raced my boat for 15yrs and have only spent 4-6 hrs tight reaching.
I have 3/8 sta-set double braid and they are to big for most of the racing I
do. I will change to 5/16 when my budget allows. BTW 2x the length of the
boat is a good length.
All the line lengths are in the handbook for reference. Sheets, halyards,
dock lines.....
