A friend of mine has a beanie made of bubble wrap. Very stylish.

Seriously, I got some foam edge guard meant for tables when you have rugrats
around. It came in a 10' roll so I've used it all over the boat. Target had
it in a nice light brown. The self-stick isn't worth a damn in the marine
environment so I have generally had to screw it on, and used machine screws
into my stainless steel beam sisters.
