[Public-List] How to unsubscribe from the A-30 list--can we make it tiny bit easier to find?

Hey George,
Those placemats that say "Not to be used for navigation" are pretty good for the state of Florida waters. I even saw some mermaids while using one to travel from Ft. Myers to Key West, FL. Cool!

Randy,
Every email on the list has the following appended at the bottom:
_______________________________________________
Public-List mailing list
Public-List at lists.alberg30.org
http://lists.alberg30.org/listinfo.cgi/public-list-alberg30.org
This is inserted automatically by the list software. In the digest
message you quoted in your reply, it says the following:
>> To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit
>> http://lists.alberg30.org/listinfo.cgi/public-list-alberg30.org
>> or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to
>> public-list-request at lists.alberg30.org
Of course, it also says this:
>> Please do NOT include the entire digest in your reply!
>> ======================================================
Rarely do people using the digest format follow that request. I have
come to the conclusion that people do not read the instructions,
particularly when they are repeated.
When people ask me, I give them the http://alberg30.org/lists/ URL which
I wrote to give detailed advice on how to use the list. I put it at this
address so that it would be easy to remember.
I cannot always provide personalized service to manage the email
subscriptions of every person on the list. Even more so when I am
traveling, busy at a conference for 18 hours a day, and accessing email
on my phone. I've always helped people who explain what problem they're
having and ask for help.
It baffles me when sailors, of all people, cannot take responsibility
for arriving at their chosen cyber-port on their own initiative when
nothing is broken. As you note, it only took you 5 to 10 minutes to
search them out. I cannot help but get an image of a skipper calling
MAYDAY on channel 16 when their placemat map blows overboard.
I hope that this helps you understand my predicament. The only way I can
think to prevent these problems is to shut down the list.
- George
