So,

Continuing the Boston Whaler Squall refit saga.

As reported earlier, we'd cut the bottom off the thing in a last ditch bid to lighten the boat. We carved out 200lbs + of soggy foam, then closed up the hull again after stiffening the outer skin with wood and glass/epoxy.

We launched the dink Friday; it floated light and lively. We towed it under sail and power to an anchorage then decided to go for a sail in it Saturday morning.

All was well until about half an hour into the sailing excursion... I could feel and hear water sloshing in the void between the inner and outer hulls. Got back to Surprise and found after we got back aboard the dinghy was now floating very deeply.

Got back to the club and with great difficulty hauled the dinghy ashore... It was full of water. This time getting rid if the water was simply a matter of opening the new drain and letting it run out.

But... How did the water get in? Must be something to do with the centerboard trunk and/or its lever. The tween hulls void flooded quickly when two of us were in the boat... Not before.

Hmmm. Must be the centerboards trunk and or it's lever.
