I rebuilt the wooden companion way sliding hatch on my 1979 A-30. I built a frame over which I could bend the curved top which was removed after gluing. I used two layers at half thickness each. It worked well!

Mine is very old, and deteriorating, on an earlier version of the boat, #162. Looking for some 'how-to' assistance here. particularly, the laminate on top is shot, and it is loose on the tracks. Can it be repaired with some kind of laminate? How do you make it snug on the tracks? Other options might be: anyone know of any of these available anywhere? Maybe off any older boats that are heading to boat heaven? What about the possibility of a newer fiberglass one, the kind on the newer boats? Would this work? re there any of these around? Question is here, would one of the newer fiberglass ones even fit the tracks or are they different sizes?
