I bring in the English 'Hot Pot' from Davey. Someday I'll change my stove
over to it. It can be closed up air tight to kill or just damp down the
fire... And it has a quirk that was common in the old days that few marine
stoves have these days. The flue comes in the top, but the opening is down
near the bottom. The fire exists in a grate down at the bottom of the stove
so that if you fill it with fuel, the stove acts as its own fuel hopper with
the coal, wood bits or charcoal working its way down to the fire at the
bottom. With my stainless steel Dickinson, if one fills it with fuel, you
get a blazing conflagaration for a few minutes while the whole shebang goes
up... No slow glowing fire.

Some people put a brass rail around the top for putting a kettle on.

This is sailing pretty close to the wind with regard to 'selling' product on
the list, so I'll stop now and if anyone is interested they can write to me
off-list.
