Check with Spartan Marine (Derector Robinhood).  They make a much heavier bronze tiller head. You need to make sure to specify the aft keyway.

Hmm, that's interesting. I tried installing the one I got.
In addition to the complaints I made last week,
the 1" socket for the rudder post was oversize: it flopped
around on the post.
