[Public-List] Battery and electrical system

Good advice as usual.
I am a bit overwhelmed by a complete rewire too. Instead, I'm replacing things in sections. First, new battery cables. Then main fuse panel. Then.... havent figure it out yet. Might not work for all, but I can tackle it in pieces when I have time. Best part to me is knowing each project is complete and helping me better understand the boat.

PASCO is great for starter and alternator rebuilds, ask for Nick. I buy my
batteries (Duracell Marine Deep Cycle group 27) at Sam's club and they last
7 years on average, and we have refrigeration on our Alberg. Tim, you may
have a wiring problem. The original wire used by Whitby is lamp cord and is
prone to corrosion which cause high current loss and draw. Change it all
with Anchor marine wiring and up the gauge. I created a wiring diagram for
the Alberg 30 that I will send to you. The job is really simple and the
wiring on an Alberg is not complicated, but as we add electronics,
auto-pilots etc. more circuits are required.
