[Public-List] Automatic Bilge Pump Outlet

As mentioned earlier, its good to notice that the small automatic bilge
pump is running.

The manual (1-1/4") and the automatic (3/4") bilge pumps on Constance
exited via fittings on the port side of the boat. Being a bit picky, or
something, seeing them there bothers me. Moved the larger fitting to the
underside of the hull opposite the engine exhaust and fiberglassed closed
the hole in the hull. That looks better.

But did not move the smaller one this winter...both ran out of time and had
second thoughts about the location to which to relocate the outlet.
Occurred to me to run the outlet of the smaller automatic bilge pump into
the cockpit about an inch or so above the port side scupper at the forward
end of the cockpit. An advantage is that one sees the output and
immediately knows that pump is running. A disadvantage is that the water,
perhaps not the cleanest water, is flowing into the cockpit.

Well, have until the next time that I haul Constance to decide upon a
course of action here.

Thoughts ?

Jonathan

P.S. Just saw in a video of a Hallberg-Rassy 352 (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKfxJaU9yY8 at 6:33) that a bilge pump is
run to the galley sink. Betting that this is NOT original, but rather
added by the previous owner that single-handed the boat from the UK to
Florida.
