[Public-List] interior problems

    My boat is a pre-liner, s/n 275. I have just noticed that the cabin 
sole in the forward cabin (where the V-berth is) is quite "soggy." It 
was solid last spring, but now appears ready to fall in.

     Has anyone else had such a problem?

     Before I begin tearing up the old planking, I thought I'd ask so I 
might know what's under there. (There is no leak in the water tank, 
which was my first thought as to cause.)

     My first idea is to cut a piece of plywood to the correct size, 
varnish it with several coats and put it down. I assume there are 
stringers to which the sole is fastened?

     Also:   The hanging locker door (which doubles as a privacy door 
for the V-berth compartment) won't close on the V-Berth side. It closes 
all right on the hanging locker but is now about 3/16" too wide to close 
on the V-berth compartment. It used to be tight but would close. I 
cannot see any cracks or loose joints in the door needing re-gluing.

         My first assumption is that the stays have pulled in the sides 
of the boat sufficiently to cramp in the woodwork, though I can't see 
other indications of that. I had aluminum plates mounted years  ago on 
each side of the beam under the mast to deal with depression of the mast 
step. As I recall, at that time the mast step was jacked up a bit when 
that was done.

     The only cure I can come up with is to plane enough off the side of 
the door to allow it to close.

     Anyone else have this problem? Is it likely related to the "dimple" 
problem someone else  described a while ago? I cannot discern any 
dimples in the topsides of the boat.
