[Public-List] Engine cooling plumbing - Yanmar

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help. I still need to measure. I did spend some time on it tonight and finally got the exhaust hose off and think this might be more $$ than I'd hoped. It needs more time in the parts washer but its crusty and the water inlet was pretty blocked. That explains the restricted flow out the exhaust this year. I didnt run the motor a much this year at all and there seemed to be less than I remember coming out the exhaust. Not scientific but seems like less is as good as I get right now.

 Chris,

I would keep the vented loop in the raw water line between the heat
exchanger and the mixing elbow.  The exhaust manifolds on these boats tend
to sit very close to the waterline and you may not have 12in at all times
(under sail).  It prevents water from filling the muffler and eventually
engine with water when seacock is open and engine is off.
