   Gudgeons may be the next thing to go -

     I had my boat (#275) hauled in August and the port side gudgeon was 
gone. The yard made up a replacement out of stainless strap and a piece 
cut out of stainless pipe and through-bolted it. The yard warned that 
the original bronze half was getting pink, i.e. weakened. It msay be 
time to make a bunch of replacements -
