I don't know if anyone has a thought about this, but our dinghy outboard
ran fine on the three week trip to Desolation Sound, British Columbia. (Saw
one other A-30 at Henry Bay located at the N end of Denman Island, south of
Comox on Vancouver Island. Didn't get to find out whose boat.) This is a
mid-1980s Mariner 5 hp. engine.
I changed the impeller last weekend and noticed two things--
* less power, though it ran fine during a 40 min. trip around Lake Union
* more noise (More rattling, generally a higher volume.
Anyone have any idea why or how to fix this? The impeller's the right part,
I'm positive. I'm nearly certain I installed it correctly--the parts all
went back together as expected.
I was wondering about timing being off but don't imagine a change in the
lower unit would have anything to do with that.
I'm still poking around in manuals, but perhaps one of you has a thought
about this perplexing problem.
Thanks,
Best Regards,
Randy
