[Public-List] Re anchors and racing

Hi again… the issue of weight forward is very interesting.

Here in Severn Sound, AKA Midland Bay, we race in flat water even when it’s blowing.  So because of that, I don’t mind the weight up forward  because I only very rarely have to deal with pitching moment.    

In flat water, especially in light airs, having all that weight of chain etc up there trimming our bow down a little actually helps.   We feel it when motor boat wakes come along, but because we never race in waves (alas) I actually like all that ironmongery up there…
