I really appreciate your advice on a new ice box, I've looked at the pics of Mikes project and I'm inspired to do the same.

Hello Alberg 30 owners, my name is
Craig and I am a new Alberg 30 owner, I am in the process of
making "Musetta" Alberg 30 #341 ready for Spring, first I
have to locate a rudder shoe or at least have one made, I
also need the gudgeon halves as well. I hope to get with
Mike L soon and get his advice on tracking one down. My
icebox on Musetta was cannibalized and so I'm in need of
restoring that area or redesigning. If anyone has an old
icebox that was removed I would love to hear from you. I'm
landlocked in Oklahoma City for now but who knows what the
future holds. I logged approximately 3400 miles on
Chesapeake Bay a few years ago and hope to return someday.

Craig - Just a note re your A30 as we
wait for Mike to return from Florida
--- As for your cannibalized ice box I
would strongly suggest that you not
try to replace the old box, but to
build the later model box that is in the
same area but is a counter top version
with two drop in insulated hatches
to enter the box. Gives nice counter
space and a much better insulated,
larger box. Ask Mike about it. It is
not difficult to build and is far
 superior.

 Dear Albergers,

Believe that it might be time to
repaint the deck, at least the cockpit.
There are areas that are comparatively
 smooth and sections that are
 textured with a diamond shaped
pattern.  What should I do to prepare these
 areas for painting?
