Hi Darcy,
We have installed New Found Metals stainless portlights on Newhaven two
years ago.
Small light size is 4x10 (410SS), large ones 8x18 (818SS). Teak spacers are
required, the walls have not enough thickness.
To install the small ports we just cut slightly bigger holes using template
provided. The big ones required to build-up some new walls area to make
existing hole smaller. Probably next size 8x22 will require cutting only.
Because this design use butyl as sealant, the exact shape of the holes
doesn't matter much as soon as there are enough butyl and still some wall
exists under the frame.
Nor easy or cheap project, but for us result well worth the effort. And
they do not leak!
