Would suggest removing all the sails.
Tying them well does not seem to matter much when winds are hurricane
strength.
A little bit is loose and the wind works on the little bit, making the
situation worse and worse.
Best to leave a little windage as possible.

Both US Boat and Practical Sailor have guides for what to do.
