Christian,
I live in New Orleans and my boat is in a marina with fixed piers. There are many factors that I take into account for moving my boat out including wind strength, direction of storm, and storm surge. During Katrina our marina had a 20ft storm surge that wiped everything out including my first boat, a Pearson Vanguard. The best we can do here is move the boat into a bayou and cross tie it from trees along the banks. You need to make sure all the lines have good chafe protection. I would think you could do the same. In Florida and the Caribbean they as well but tie off the mangroves. For hurricane Isaac in 2010, the local boatyard hauled out sailboats and blocked them on dry land. Unfortunately, they had no time to unstep their masts or tie them down with anchors. More than half toppled over like dominos. These are situations when you wish you had a trailer and could just haul her out to safety.
I hope you and your family stay safe.
