[Public-List] Can anyone recommend a surveyor in the San Francisco Bay area?

Hello and happy New Year! I'm starting it out by buying an A30 from 1971. Don't know the hull number yet.

The current owner is very knowledgeable and seems to have maintained it well for the last 9 years so I think it's solid. I'm on a budget, but this is my first boat and I don't know what I'm doing, so I still want to do a proper pre-purchase survey. Preferably with someone experienced enough to advise me of any big-ticket repairs that will be needed down the road! I know the rigging was replaced in 2011 and it was hauled and painted 2 years ago. It has an Atomic 4 with 1000 hours on it that seems to be in good working order, but I don't know engines. Sails seem OK, as do the decks. As far as I can tell the only things it really needs are some cosmetic touch ups and a windlass etc. set up on the bow if I want to be able to anchor out easily.

So my two main questions are 1, does anyone know a Bay Area surveyor? And 2, if you were buying it on a budget would you do a haul out as part of the survey or skip that to save money? Assuming no unforseen issues it shouldn't need a bottom job yet. The owner seems trustworthy and to have maintained everything I can see including the through-hulls.

Feel free to email me separately if you want to instead: jefdaj at protonmail.ch

Thanks
Jeff
