[Public-List] compass

     I have a very nice 5 inch Gemini compass - probably the one that 
came with the boat in 1967, but the side of the dome that faces the 
helmsman is faded and cloudy. Essentially unreadable. Since new 5" 
compasses run $699 and up, I'd like to rehabilitate this one.  Has 
anyone done that?

     Has anyone tried the stuff you use to clear up cloudy auto headlights?

     Or anything else?
