Most that have created a deck riser for the chainplates have done so to
achieve two goals;  to create a riser that will reduce some drainage into
the slot, and to provide a taller channel for more sealant to exist around
the chainplate where it passes through the deck.  The caps from schafer or
anywhere else are by no means structural or substantial enough to resist
the forces of a flexing chainplate.  The best way to reduce movement is to
have a larger, (thicker) stiffer chainplate.  Check out
