The reason you cannot just slide it off into the cockpit area is the
fiberglass spine or hump butts against the fore arch of the companion
way hatch. As you think about re-attaching, I'm open for any more
convenient way to do so. Trying to screw those 4 plates back on is a
pain. There must be a better way! Perhaps L shaped brackets??
