[Public-List] Companionway Hatch

I too have those four bronze keepers that secure the hatch, I think the fasteners on mine are #6 x 1/2”. My hatch, although you could step through it, had held its shape- I used it as the core, I built three ribs across the hatch, each one is about 3/4” x 1” (I had a really nice band saw at the time so that kind of stuff is easy-peasy), these were epoxied to the top of the hatch with nice fillets with thickened epoxy. Several layers of cloth set in epoxy and the thing is bulletproof
