I am following because I also need a new mainsail, but I can not even consider getting one (new or used) until after April. Until then, I can tell you from experience, Sailrite sail repair tape is great stuff. I keep a bandage box on hand full of small patches and also several 6” X 18” patches ready to use. It may have been from the Pardy’s or Eric Hiscock where I got the notion, but two of the most enjoyable changes I have made to my boat have been getting a mainsail without battens (when I get a new one it will have no battens and also no headboard) and replacing my 150% genoa with a 110% headsail (just my opinion but it works for me).
