Daniel — The best way to buy sails for the A30 (or any boat) is to put the order out to bid. Simply send an email request for quote to all of the lofts you are interested in. You can spec the sail by its dimensions (which are in the A30 association member directory or the web site) or simply as “an A30 class legal sail”. If you are not planning to race the boat then I would recommend lose footed (with a good out haul) and a full upper batten. If you don’t realistically sail in heavy weather then you can opt for just one set of reef points.

Until then, I can tell you from experience, Sailrite sail repair tape is great stuff. I keep a bandage box on hand?full of small patches and also several 6? X 18??patches ready to use. It may have been from?the Pardy?s or Eric Hiscock where I got the notion, but two of the most enjoyable changes I have made to my boat have been getting a mainsail without battens (when I get a new one it will have no battens and also no headboard) and replacing my 150% genoa with a 110% headsail (just my opinion but it works for me).?
