Happy Victoria Day.
I think we?re the only country which still celebrates the old Queen?s birthday? perhaps not so much out of loyalty to her these days as a disinclination to give up a spring long weekend.
Had a good day on SURPRISE yesterday, There was, however, a bit of a calamity. Last fall I forgot to cover the butt end of the mast? this spring I couldn?t get to the boat until Saturday, at which point I did cover the butt. Why? So birds don?t nest in there. What did I see Sunday? Two frantic starlings with beaks full of food trying vainly to get in.
Back up the ladder I went, took the cover off and looked in. Lots of twigs? and lots of ?peeping?. Baby birds. So I left the cover off. The birds shot in as soon as I climbed down again. I googled starlings? the babies stay in the nest for three weeks after hatching. Maybe they?re already a week or two into that period? maybe they?ll be away before the mast goes up? I hope.

Always something?
Let me know if you have any dates in mind for Windward.
This week has great weather and there will be more coming I?m sure.
I have to wear a BP monitor Wednesday of this week, probably best not to be too active then.
On the 25th I have to go to the eye doc. In Orillia and Tues. 26 May I have a telephone doc appt and a dental cleaning (if they don?t cancel ).
Let me know!
Greg

Hi Greg? I?ll pick dates. And when we?re together I?ll try to refrain from telling you funny stories so you don?t laugh too hard and get your BP monitor excited?.
