The wood across the bottom of the companionway door was knocked off and
lost during re-powering.
Does anyone have a sketch of the profile of the wood piece?

You could cut a piece of plywood that just fits the hole, put some
blocks across the corners so it can't slip in, and hold it in place
with

As George suggested, block the corners (or the entire perimeter) to
prevent the cover from falling through, and then it could be as simple
as a couple of turn buttons, easily made and installed out of scrap.
Perhaps lightly gasketing the points of contact would eliminate
vibration as well as blocking air flow from(or into) the cabin.

Christian,
Looks like you have the cover already cut.
You can secure the cover the same way that the two under sink access
panels
are secured.
Those have two tabs attached to the rear of the cover just above the
bottom
and extending down
past the bottom edge of the opening. They hold the bottom of the access
panel in place. The top
of the panel can be secured with a elbow latch as the access panels are
and
the locker doors below
the cabin deadlights are secured.
There are also turn latches, magnetic, and many more types

Christian,
Sorry I called you Doug earlier. Would you like the door to be attached
so you don't need a place to store it while open/off? Would you like a
surface to rest the fridge while it is resting on the cushion of the
settee? My suggestion would offer both of these features. Looks like
the opening is just the size of the fridge, so blocking around the
perimeter of the opening would reduce the size of the opening and make
removal of the fridge difficult? As mentioned a continuois piano hinge
at the bottom closed on itself would easly prevent the hinged up door
to move very much into the opening. A simple latch at the top would
keep it in line with the vertical surface.
Others have made good suggestions. I like the twist catches offered by
George.
Your magnet idea might not keep the cover in place during a rough sea
state. Is the fridge strapped down? It best be or trapped with fiddles.
