You might check out the site frontpanelexpress.com. I have used them to make panels for electronic equipment and have been pleased with the results.

Do you still have the image of the plate that was sent for the previous run of them? Possibly also dimensions?

In a conversation off-list with a few people who'd expressed interest, I brought up having found some good indications that hitting anodized aluminum with a CO2 laser (of the sort you can find at most hackerspaces/makerspaces, and that a decent assortment of hobbyists also have at home) burns off the dye in the anodization, leaving bright (but I imagine still anodized) metal.

Basically this means that if you've got a suitably sized and coloured piece of anodized sheet/plate, and an image file, there's a decent change that you can find a hackerspace, makerspace, or hobbyist with a laser and a willingness to help you out to make your own plate with no minimum order size.

I don't know where to find such a laser around the Chesapeake, but for Albergers close to Toronto, I know that Hacklab and Site 3 each have such a laser, can't quite remember if the Toronto Public Library has one (or if they've just got 3d printers), strongly suspect that the Toronto Tool Library has one, and I've got some friends around High Park who have one at home (and know of 2 more home lasers belonging to friends who live up in Deep River). I imagine that they're not that much scarcer around Maryland.

Cheers,
Kris
