 Yes, thank you so much.  The rudder was repaired by a previous owner about 20 years ago.  I can still see what I think is 5200.

Taft, one thing I learned years ago from Bruce Rankin is to bed the 
rudder shoe liberally in 3M 5200. It's very adhesive, but softens easily 
by heating the shoe with a propane torch if you need to take it off.
