In Canada, there can be none better than skippersplan.com
They understand classic boats, particularly the A-30, make no unreasonable demands, and charge affordable rates.
I hope you will be so fortunate in your search.

I know this question comes up from time to time but since I wasn’t in the market for insurance I unfortunately did not take note of the suggestions. Until now.

I have a very generous Agreed Value policy from Hanover Insurance ($22,000) first issued in 1998. I have never filed a claim. Yesterday I received notice of non-renewal explaining that they were exiting the line of business.

I’m not all that concerned about replacing the agreed value since I doubt it would be anywhere near what I had. Boat US first quoted $5,100 before clarifying that they don’t write this or even liability coverage for vessels older than 40 years. Quest was built in 1970 and is kept on a private dock at our second home in the lower Chesapeake Bay.

So can anyone suggest a company or agent that can underwrite basic liability coverage for my 50 year old boat. Thanks
