[Public-List] Bulkhead repair

I am replacing the outer 2' of the port fwd bulkhead due to old chainplate
leak.

Once the tabbing was cut it came out easily. The edge of the plywood wasn't
a fixed to the hull except by the tabbing. Can anyone tell me how much gap
to leave?

Any words of collective wisdom here? Would a thing strip of foam between
the plywood and the hull be a good idea?
