My tiller (not original, laminated aftermarket - if I find or recall the source I will post it) is 1.5” wide, 2” high (where the bronze fitting attaches and fits nicely) but is only 46” long (I am pleased with the length and wouldn’t want it to be any longer). It is curved (a simple arch, not a stretched out “S” shape) and tapered.    Just to note: mine has flat, rectangular bronze plates about the thickness of a washer between the wood of the tiller and the tapered tangs of the heavy bronze attachment fitting. DanielSolitude (#525)Mandeville, LA

Hi all,

Does anyone have the dimensions for their tiller? I am not currently at my
boat, but measurements for an old tiller are 1.5 width, 2" height, 50 "
length, and 7.5 " rise. The tiller hardware looks to be original. It sits
loose on the post, so I have to use some washers to keep it tight. Does
this sound about right?

Wade, if you're talking about the H-fitting being loose on the tiller
head on the rudder post, then the "ears" have probably bent inwards.
This is a common problem with the Edson tiller heads.
